Pin Torx security screws use a six-lobe recess with an integrated center pin. A conventional Torx driver cannot fully engage the recess; installation and authorized removal require a matching security bit with a center hole.
This design provides tamper resistance for equipment and components where access should be limited. It should be described as tamper-resistant rather than completely tamper-proof, because removal remains possible with the correct tool.
